I have painted since I was a child and never stopped believing in fairies, dragons and witches. A few years ago I sold my illustrations, wooden bookends and mirror frames in a small gallery in darkest North Essex, under the name Amber Caspian, while nursing a broken heart. Then I went back to London to get a 'proper' job and spent the next few years yearning to escape and travel.
After taking voluntary redundancy from my job of ten years, I spent a year painting, writing and travelling. I saw magical temples in Cambodia, frozen lakes and northern lights in Arctic Sweden, walked orange canyons in North America and heather strewn, wind swept stone circles in the Outer Hebrides. Then I came home...
I built a studio in the garden called The Spinney and a blog called The Tanglewood, now I write and paint to my heart's content. I hope you will enjoy my characters and their humorous and fantastical capers.
