It all started with around 3000 old field trip admissions forms. As a high schooler in love with origami, I couldn't afford to buy quality paper. Fortunately my school was getting rid of these old forms, which were each in triplicate. With a limited palette of white, pink, and yellow, I started a papercraft journey that would continue years after high school. For my first project, I made 10,000 lucky stars.
By the time that was finished, I was an adult. I had access to far superior materials, and I decided it was time to branch out. Simple origami forms are beautiful, but they don't withstand the test of time, and they aren't very useful. I wanted to find a way to preserve my origami and show it off to friends and family.
Enter jewelry making. Using resins, glue, and paper coatings, I was able to make my creations virtually waterproof and highly resistant to dirt and dust. Even better, I was able to make them into jewelry, which game me an excellent way to brag about my efforts. I've always had a huge ego. :P
Now I'm bringing my crafts to etsy. Hopefully they'll delight you as they've delighted me over the years.
