The people in my life have shaped my view of the natural world and of art. My grandmother was an artist who painted throughout world, my mémère a local singer, my sister is an up and coming artist in New York City, my father has an unmatched enthusiasm for all things wild and spectacular, and my mother taught me how to appreciate even the tiniest parts of the natural world.
I grew up in Southern New Hampshire where the ocean lay at my feet and the mountains were just within reach. Exploration and adventure were everyday. I soaked it all up and my eyes grew wider with each sight and experience.
I did not discover photography until I began to travel alone. I loved how within each photo every tiny detail of that moment could be permenently recorded. The beauty of the entire experience could be remembered, whether it be the wild weather, a melody playing in my head, or the thoughts passing through my mind as I look out into the world. While my experience of that moment cannot ever be known completely, I hope to translate the feeling and emotion of that moment to the viewer.
