I dig cities. Cities with that are alive and modern, but also steeped in history. Cities that have world-class architecture, but also incredible street art and culture. Cities like Berlin, Paris, New York.
My photographic series "The Art of the Wall" on the vanishing art from the Berlin Wall has been exhibited at galleries and other venues in Chicago. Beginning November 2014, the series will receive a major installation at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Wall. Six-foot-high prints from the series will be installed to surround the famed Rotunda, one of only three modern man-made sites in the U.S. to be internationally protected as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO (the other two are the Statue of Liberty and Independence Hall).
You can read more about this milestone celebration of freedom and art and the Art of the Wall series at www.theartofthewall.com.
