The Art Garden Shop was born after years of dreaming about it. I have been making art since I was one year old -(there's proof on my dad's home videos)- and I have always dreamed of being a full-time artist. After getting my BFA in Illustration and my MFA in Studio Art, I really had no more excuses. It was time to take the leap - and The Art Garden was born! Here in my shop, I offer you my visions and creations in a way that is beautiful, practical yet imaginative, and affordable. Art saved my life. Over my lifetime of making art, I have made some pieces that have literally rescued me from suicide. I think of my art as a method I have developed - over time and through personal experimentation- on how to survive and heal from trauma. Through this work I created beauty and growth out of a dark, hopeless space. I have come to acknowledge art-making as a spiritual practice that enables me to communicate with my Soul. My Soul speaks to me through images and symbols that come forward in my drawings and paintings. The Art Garden was able to come to life now since I have healed and shifted my attention to thriving - I now fully focus on nature and our human connection, love, and joy for life. Human hands have been my obsession, and stand as a symbol of our divinity and also our unique human-ness. By creating hand portraits, I get to know the surface and the spirit of a human. Through the process, I get to see the story of an individual life, and feel the energy of love present in each person.
