Announcement
In early sideshows, the term "Bally" was used to describe the person who enticed passersby to come and be amazed, astonished or bewildered by the perfections and imperfections awaiting beyond the curtained door. Once inside, and following the promised show, the audience could often pay a little more for a "Ding", something extra not advertised outside by the "Bally". Because this extra thrill was pitched as too exciting for women or too exotic for children, the players in this form of entertainment often referred to the event as the "Bally Ding Revue".
