The Story Behind Big Dog Pots

I came to the world of pottery late in life. I had already completed one career and had decided to be at home with my 2 children as a full-time mom. I experienced a loss in my family that sent me into a new direction in life. For 25 years, I had collected pottery, and my husband encouraged me to try making pottery as a means to work through my grieving process.

I have historically not been very "artistic" but I gave it a try.

2022 will mark my 15th year in my new life as a potter, I am for the most part a self-taught artist and have not tired of the journey. If anything, I seem to be more and more interested in refining and enhancing my work.

A portion of my proceeds are donated to local animal rescue groups in my hometown.
I am thankful for the support and encouragement I have received over the years, and I am thankful for this journey as I continue to emerge as a pottery artisan.

Mya is a new addition to the Big Dog family. Rescued in 9/2022. She had a rough life and is about 6 years old. She loves to rub noses with Max and is beginning to learn the art of SNUGGLING. She and her "sister" Tink are perfect and precious!

Tink is settling in. We rescued her along with Mya in 9/2022. She was semi-feral and is interacting with us reluctantly. She and Mya are a bonded pair. She is vibrant, mischievous and energetic. We think she is about 2 yrs and is TINY.
