I started my shop because I kept making doilies and had them stored in boxes in closets. I was encouraged by my kids and my husband. My husband's fear was that one day he would come home and everything would be covered with a doily. I enjoy working with thread and not a day goes by that I haven't worked on one or two projects. I was kind of apprehensive about putting myself out there. Was my stuff good enough? What if nobody buys from me? You know all those self-doubts that we all have. I started by doing a craft show. And guess what..I sold most of my stuff. So I figured why not try an Etsy shop? I enjoy having a place just to show off my doilies. Here is the real kicker..after putting myself out in the world..I have been interviewed by our local paper..have a blog..and even have some very loyal customers. Through it all I have made friends..online and at my show. I now am expanding my shop to carry DMC Cebelia thread. I can become one of my customers. I have surrounded myself with people that love me, encourage me, and support what I do. I think that is what makes you successful..
