Frequently asked questions

Will these gourd sculptures rot?

The gourds I use in my art do not degrade. A true gourd grows a hard, wood-like shell. This shell, once clean, also acts like wood. As long as it's not exposed to moisture or the weather, they will be permanent pieces of art. All of my pieces are sealed with water resistant sealers for easy cleaning, but my artwork is NOT meant for outside display. They will still last a while if you choose to display them outside, but I cannot guarantee they will hold up for a prolonged period.

Can I diplay them outside?

It's not recommended. The gourds, clay, and acrylic paint and sealer may wear over time in the weather. The sealer and paint prevents casual humidity, and moisture from accidents, from hurting them. But continued exposure to the elements will damage or destroy the paint, clay, and eventually the gourd at its core. Take care not to expose them to harsh elements.

Care instructions

These sculptures are not toys. They are not meant to be played with and WILL break if dropped or knocked against hard objects. They are easy to clean since they are sealed with water-resistant sealers in case of accidents (that also makes them easy to dust). They are not meant for outside display.

Custom and personalized orders

I will gladly make you a unique, custom gourd sculpture! If you'd like a different version of something I've already made, message or email me at: NobleD9C@aol.com with a link of a similar artwork. I can also make totally new and different creations. Contact me with details on what animal or subject, size, price range, photos, etc. and I will respond back with a price quote. 50% of the price is due upfront as a deposit. My custom orders take between 2-4 weeks depending on current work load. Once a custom order is started you will be frequently updated on its progress until the artwork is completed and shipped.
