For years I had suffered from dry, cracked skin while washing with commercial brand soaps. I used lotion and hand salve on a regular basis, but they only provided temporary relief. I knew there had to be a better way, so I started to research into what was causing my skin problems. The results greatly surprised me: of all things, my soap was likely the culprit. Why? Because when ingredients are turned into soap, a compound called glycerin is formed that takes moisture from the air and seals it into your skin. However, commercial companies like Dial and Softsoap take the glycerin out of their products and instead sell it to lotion companies so you have to buy yet another product to solve your problems from the first product.

Shortly after, my family suggested I start making my own soap. I borrowed numerous books from the library, looked at soap making websites, and watched videos on YouTube before finally starting to make my own. I decided to add a unique angle to my soaps, using food-grade all natural ingredients to make exceptional bars that I was sure would be extra loving to the skin. After the first batch, I was hooked! The soap was gentle, left my hands feeling moisturized, and within a few days my hands looked healthy without having to use any lotions or other products.

I created more recipes over the course of a year and a half, crafting soaps that would be gentle on my hands like the first batch, and tested them on myself to be sure they would do the trick.

With the varieties, it occurred to me that I could try selling soaps. Since then, I have been blessed with monthly sales despite the steep competition, new and repeat buyers alike, and wonderful praise for my soaps from people all around the country.
