I have been creating pottery and ceramic sculptures since my first ceramic class nearly 4 years ago. Most of the listings are of recent work, but little by little I am listing some of my oldest work that have been in boxes or beautifully decorating my room all these years. It is hard to get rid of some of the things I've made, but I have made up my mind that I don't have room for all my art. And I want my life to be simpler which means I want to have less and give more.
So far I have sold pieces to friends in Chicago. These are friends that know my personal story and believe in me as a person and encourage my study in art. I hope to get my artwork outside of Chicago and to more people, but I am thankful and grateful and extremely happy I have come this far. The hardest part about my Etsy shop was starting it. I had heard about Etsy many times before finally becoming part of it, but the idea of my art online for people to buy was just too much. It was like a dream, and in my experience dreams didn't come true. But that is no longer true now, it is my job to make my dreams come true. It is a scary realization, but I am now stronger in mind than before creating this shop.
I still have a lot of things to do, which are sometimes scary, but thanks to Etsy, they don't seem as scary, instead only challenging. I want to thank the people behind Etsy for helping me out start to get my art out there for all to see and buy. I really do know that I can.
