DebG Designs are handmade, one-of-a-kind jewelry items. Utilizing glass, beads (large & small), gemstones, crystals, clay (polymer & PMC), and other mediums, to create timeless pieces. Always trying new techniques and processes. All my creations are gift boxed and most have an informational card about the stones & components used to create the piece.
*Sometimes when making a gift purchase it is difficult to choose the right piece, here are a few specifics to home in on: Silver or Gold? Fearless or Demure? Preferred necklace length? Favorite colors worn? Birthstone?
**Info on necklace lengths in case you are making a gift purchase:
1) collar=fits directly against the throat, 2) choker, 16" rests at the base of the neck
3) princess=18" at or near the collarbone, 4) 20"=a few inches below the collarbone
5) 22"=at or above the neckline, 6) 24"=below the neckline 7) 28"=around bust line
Other necklace length terms(used more in pearl necklaces):
1) matinee = 20" to 24" length 2) opera = 30" to 36" length
3) rope = strands longer than 36" in length
ABOUT CROCHETED ROPE NECKLACES
1. A bead is not just a bead. Therefore, a beaded necklace is not just a beaded necklace. The smaller the bead, the higher degree of difficulty (and more time) in the making of the rope (necklace). The length of the necklace also adds to the difficulty (maintaining design) and to the time crocheting.
2. The design of the pattern for the rope: If the design is complex (i.e. flowers, lines, etc.) then it is important to understand that the design must be laid out with every bead having a particular place in the sequence. Then each bead is strung onto the thread in the proper sequence. This occurs way before the crocheting even begins. The design sequence is sometimes over one thousand (1,000) beads (for a larger bead with the rope diameter of a marker) or over two thousand (2,000) beads (for a smaller bead with the rope diameter of a drinking straw). If a single bead is not strung on the thread in its proper place in the sequence, the design will be flawed. Sometimes, as the designer, no matter how careful one is, half way through fabrication of the rope (crocheting) it becomes painfully evident that a bead – just one in the design- is out of place. Correcting this screw up is most times not possible and the piece must be completely done over.
3. In crocheted necklaces or ropes, the beads are first strung on a single thread, one bead at a time – and then through the hand process of crocheting – becomes one with the thread to make a necklace (not a quick process).
These necklaces are not found in department stores. They are handmade creations that are personal to each designer.

I love to make things. It started early on when I couldn't find what was in my mind in the regular stores. I concentrate on jewelry and knitting on ETSY...but there are many avenues of creativity that I do explore and many that I have not - yet.
