Announcement    Welcome to Epicurean Bookcase. We have been collecting cookbooks and recipes for over 30 years and now it's time to share our cherished cookbooks with you. I am a member of the largest Japanese American family to settle in Arizona. My Grandpa Tanita came to the Phoenix and Glendale area in 1928 with his family of 15 to establish Produce Farming. Tanita Farms was one of the largest mixed produce growers in the area in the 60's & 70's. Our interest in Asian Foods & Cookery comes from that family heritage, while our knowledge of Mexican food stems from our close association with the migrant workers of the time whom we employed. My wife Cindy on the other hand is Slovenian from Ohio. Its funny one of the first things we found in common when we met was this wonderful pastry that we Japanese loved which is call Povitica. My Aunt used to make it exquisitely. Turns out that Povitica or Potica is a Slovenian Pastry. I think we got the recipe from some relatives in Gallup, NM who must have had some Slovenian friends. Don't tell anyone but I actually like the Povitica made by my Japanese Aunts the best. Anyways we love diverse foods & Cultures and try to keep that enthusiasm as it relates to finding books. We especially love Family & Church Cook Books and will be offering them to share with you.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our shop.
