HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
I've always tried to find ways to keep my creative self entertained and share my art with some part of the world. Ever since I can remember, I've tried to create something awesome, create something unique and to have had hopes to accomplish something at a young age. Making beautiful things is something I love to do, because I love the beautiful things. I'm fascinated with the beauty we can find if we simply look at what is put in front of us. After all, five and two began with a starfish and some rhinestones. After my humble entrepreneurial endeavors in high school, I was thrilled to receive a scholarship from an entrepreneurial incubator, the Lyles Center, at my local university. The Lyles Center was a very important stepping stone for me. It was the place where a group of grown men insisted I sell my jewelry. Me. A 20-something art major who liked to play with glue and rhinestones.
BECAUSE
I'm reminded often that I have little to give. As much as I may try to give my all, its not enough compared to the awesomeness of God. This story reminds me that even though I have little to give, God can do a lot with it:
"We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish," they answered. "Bring them here to me," he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over." Matthew 14:18-21a
