Welcome to Faberjane Eggs! You will see my original award winning designs as well as traditional designs in my shop. Each one is created by hand, by me. No machines were used to create any part of my designs. I use only high grade varnish with UVLS to protect against fading. My egg shell jewelry is filled with resin to give the small eggs weight and strengthen the shell. I’d be happy to make something special just for you!
The ancient art of Ukrainian egg decorating is called Pysanka (Pis-an-ka). A design is drawn on a raw egg with melted bees wax using a kistka (wax stylist). The egg is put in a special dye bath. When the desired color is achieved, the egg is removed and dried. Additional designs may be drawn on the egg. Bees wax protects the color during subsequent dye baths. This process is repeated until the design is finished. The design alone may take many hours. The wax is removed and the beautiful design is revealed. Several coats of polyurethane are applied to protect the color and strengthen the shell. A hole is drilled into the shell and the egg is removed. When the shell is completely dry inside, the hole is covered with bees wax or a finding for hanging. It takes several days to create a beautiful Pysanka.
Pysanky egg shell jewelry is made in the same way as described above. Before varnishing the egg, the earring or pendant designs are cut out individually. The pieces are finished with an environmentally friendly, non toxic resin. Findings are attached and the earrings are then ready to wear and enjoy!
Whole egg pysanky jewelry is made as described above. The eggs are filled with an eco friendly resin to give them strength and weight. Faberjane Eggs jewelry is made to be worn and enjoyed!

Love the detailed, poppy flower design of these earrings and of course they are light-weight! The earrings were shipped promptly and now I wear them all the time. I'm sure I will be visiting Jane's shop again and making another purchase :)

5 out of 5 starsThe detail in this egg, which is unusually large is fantastic. I loved it from far away, but close up it's even more impressive. I love the Oriole bird at the front and the egg's nest at the back... how playful is that! A real WOW egg!
