Fairfax & Davis is a husband and wife team located in the beautiful mountains of northeast Georgia. Henry grew up in Florida and I lived there for many years but I’m Virginia born and raised and spent about half of my childhood in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Moving up here felt like coming home to me. Henry had been building some furniture for our new home and was inspired to begin making primitive pieces like the ones used way back when homesteaders made or grew just about everything they had. They are practical and honest pieces, like the people who first made them. We opened our Etsy store in July of 2012 intending to offer just Henry’s woodworks.

I love making things, all kinds of things, especially with repurposed materials. A thrift shop in town and local yard sales provide an endless supply of materials. I make my redesigned clothing and crafts pretty much the same way I cook…I look through what staples and bits and pieces I have on hand and think up new and interesting ways to combine them. Yard sales also give us the opportunity to find interesting little treasures for our vintage section.

Nature and creativity feed our souls. We’ve tried our hand at a lot of different things through the years, there always seems to be some new idea just begging to be explored. We love what we're doing now, but who knows what other adventures await? Whatever it may be, Etsy gives both Henry and I a way to share our creativity with others.
