Frequently asked questions

How long does it take for me to get my order?

Please check announcements for any delays/notifications. I generally ship within 1-2 business days from when you place an order, but this may change in emergency situations.

While USPS has generally been reliable, packages are occasionally delayed within the system, so I can not guarantee delivery dates. If you need your order quickly, please send me a message before ordering and I'll let you know how quickly I can prepare your items and get them to USPS, and whether upgraded shipping options are available.

Please note that I do reserve the right to upgrade packages to Priority Mail at my discretion and expense.

Do my pulls or knobs come with screws?

Yes, all pulls and knobs come with the necessary screws and/or nails unless otherwise stated in the listing. As a courtesy, I check each screw hole and re-tap the threads as needed. If the original screws are either rusty or mismatched I will replace them with a new set so that your pulls will be ready to install.
The screws I include are typically between .75" and 1" long, depending on whether the pulls have protrusions that go into the drawer front, and also the overall scale of the pulls. If you have unusually thin or thick drawer fronts please send me a message before ordering and I'll let you know whether I can include shorter or longer screws.

How do I measure for drawer pulls?

To determine what size drawer pulls you need, you should measure from the center of one hole to the center of the other hole (either on a pull you are trying to match, or based on the holes in your drawer front). The measurement is described in each listing and title (for example: 3" centers, 3" hole spacing, 3 inches from center to center).

I'm looking for a specific piece / I need a larger quantity / I found what I need, but it's been sold...can you help?

I can try! Part of the fun of vintage hardware is that there are thousands of different styles out there. However, I understand that this makes it difficult if you are trying to match a missing or broken pull, or trying to find a large set in a rare size.
If you don't see what you need, please don't hesitate to ask me. If I don't have it, I'll gladly add your request to my "wish list" and send you a message if I get what you're looking for.

What will marking my order as a gift do?

Generally nothing! I don't include paper invoices in my packages, so I do not treat orders marked as a gift any differently. If you'd like me to include a note or omit my business card just let me know.
For international customers: selecting "gift" on your order will not change any customs or tax obligations you will have. Customs forms will include the accurate merchandise value.

Do you accept returns?

Yes, I accept returns (except for custom, clearance, and sale items which are final sale). PLEASE note that items MUST be in the mail (or FedEx/UPS) within 1 WEEK from delivery (based on USPS tracking) or no refund will be issued. To be fair to all of my customers, no exceptions will be made.
Example: if your order was delivered on a Friday, you have until the following Friday to have it in the mail. If you'd like to return your item, please:
1. Send me a message letting me know to expect your return within 5 days of delivery
2. Carefully re-package the items, and make sure your name is on/in the box
3. Purchase shipping and get the package to the carrier you chose

I'll issue the refund in 1-3 days once received back in original condition.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I am happy to ship internationally to many countries! If you're interested in buying multiple items, please feel free to send me a message with the items/quantities you'd like and I'll let you know if I can combine shipping more efficiently to save on costs. Buyers are responsible for all local customs fees and taxes and packages will not be marked gifts.
PLEASE NOTE: As of November 2017, I will no longer be shipping to the European Union.

What does "+More Available" mean?

When I have more than one of a specific item in stock, I add "+More Available" to the bottom of the first picture. I do this to try to make browsing easier, and to differentiate the items I have only one of. To see how many are available, please click on the drop down quantity menu in the listing.
If the item cost is $20 or more, the quantity can only be changed in your Etsy shopping cart (Etsy policy, not mine - sorry about this!)

How do I reach you with a question or concern?

Please send me a message here on Etsy! I answer Etsy messages as quickly as I can, and it's the best way to reach me. Any messages sent to my email address will be replied to via Etsy's messaging system.
Please note that FairyHome is located in Virginia, and operates on Eastern Time. Messages received after about 9pm will be answered the following morning.
Please note that orders typically can not be cancelled once placed, but please send me a note immediately if you accidentally ordered the wrong item and I'll work with you to swap it out for the right item.

USPS says my item was delivered but I don't have it, what should I do?

Please make sure you have a secure place for USPS to deliver your package. If you don't see if after it's marked as delivered, check with household members and neighbors to see if they picked it up.
If not, immediately contact your local post office and they'll be able to tell you exactly where/when it was delivered based on data from their scan.
If USPS reports that it was delivered to the wrong place, send me a message and we can work with USPS to track it down and/or file a claim.
If they delivered it to the right place, you may choose to file a mail theft report with USPS.
Due to the volume of mail theft incidents in recent years, FairyHome can not refund or replace items that are stolen after delivery as indicated by USPS tracking.
