Hi! I'm Tamara, the artist behind GeminiDragonfly.

For many, many years recycled metal art has been my medium, but with the passage of time and the changes life brings, I've returned to mediums that don't take such a toll on my joints and offer me more mobility to travel. I still create metal art during the warmth of summer, though. It's truly my first love!

My mediums over the years have been varied, from stained glass, jewelry making, ceramics, photography and pyrography to sewing, face painting, graphic design and more. Several years ago, I studied and was certified in Surface Pattern Design. It has been such a gratifying pivot from my metal artistry, because it still uses many of the same drawing skills that I have always loved and used daily in my metal artwork. No matter the medium, though, Mother Nature inspires nearly everything I create!

When weather allows, you can find me in the garden, another passion of mine. This is where many of my observations become my motivations and my muse. Birds, bees, flowers, trees. They're all the fuel that sparks my designs in any medium I work with.

I have gone from working in a big, cold shop with a plasma cutter, welder, hammers and grinders, my son and daughter often working by my side, to working in the comfort of my home studio, with pencil, paintbrush watercolors and computer and, of course, my fur kids now by my side (or stepping all over my palette and knocking over my watercolor wash! GAH!) I even have a teeny tiny little studio space in my RV for when I'm out on an adventure! It's so cute!

No matter where I'm working from or whatever medium you may find me working with, my desire is to transport you closer to Nature and fill you with the wonder and whimsy of childhood, to create a healthier planet, to nurture kindness and to make beautiful products for you to surround yourself with. I really, really, really hope my art lifts your spirits and makes you happy!
