Hello! Hola! My name is Isabel and I am the owner, creator, the hands and soul of Gypsy Tailor!

My shop started in 2009 while we were living in Argentina, our first diplomatic tour. The name of my shop comes from our gypsy life as we follow my husband around the world for his job.

I discovered Etsy by casualty while looking in the internet at how to make a handmade label. Etsy came up on my screen and immediately a new door opened to me. I decided to step in and see where was going to take me.....10 years later it has taken me into a world of creativity and to connect with so many people from around the world!

My sewing room is where the magic starts! It is my office and the place where I like to be the most. I can never be without having a project on my hands. Drawing, creating, designing, sewing and working with my hands is what I love to do! Seeing that people like my designs and products is so rewarding and motivates me to work harder.

In 2010 I designed a coin purse that has been the best seller in my shop, I call it the Mini Gypsy Coin Purse. I use leathers or faux leathers, vintage fabrics that I inherited from my husband’s grandmother. I also recycle neckties to use as linings for the men’s coin purses. I love using fabrics that I have found in all the countries I have lived in or I have visited. And because fabric shopping is my weakness I also use new modern fabrics. I like playing with different textures, colors, contrasting color threads to create unique pieces that are well made and with good quality materials.

Thanks for visiting my store and taking the time to know more about me and my work. Our gypsy life has taking us to Argentina, Vietnam, Ukraine and last year we arrived in Peru! We will stay here until 2023. As always new adventures and travels await for Gypsy Tailor!
