About six years ago i began to tap into my creativity using beads to create necklaces and earrings. Around the same time, I decided that i wanted to learn to crochet. I was shown a few basic skills and began working with what i knew. The first piece that i created was a handbag as was the second, third, fourth, fifth and so on... I have a love for handbags. I have always been drawn to them. The expression that comes with the different depths, sizes, shapes and colors of handbag in which we are able to carry our most precious and essential items. I have always loved to match my outfits with corresponding colors and choosing a handbag to compliment the days chosen color scheme just tops it off! This is how my shop began to manifest. I built up an inventory of handbags selling a few here and there just by word of mouth or casual interactions in which my craft would come up in conversation. Many of the handbags i created i created with self in mind and so they included the colors red gold and green representing the ethiopian flag and my love for Africa and the Ras Tafari livity (way of life). Eventually i began to make use of different color schemes in an effort to appeal to a wider audience. Years later I am still designing and crocheting handbags because the possibilities are just limitless! Each one is different! I love the ability to take a hook and use it as a tool to turn a skein of yarn or thread into something that will become a valued and useful item. I really just did this as a favorite pass time but recently decided to establish a business as i am passionate about being able to share my creativity and skill with others and also expanding my ability as a way and means to survive! I do not create an item everyday or even every week sometimes but the items that i create are created with, love, care and precision. As a result the items that i create are very durable and of high quality rather than quantity. I am beginning to expand my line of product and will be creating more of a variety of items. In the past i have also made hats, belts and scarves. I have began and will continue to make more of these items and in addition will be making other items such as skirts, earrings, headbands, leg warmers, other accessories and clothing to name a few so there is much more to come from
