I don't know when I started my love affair with junk - perhaps it was when I was a child and my grandpa would send me an my brothers boxes of neat junk for Christmas. We would fight over the broken wristwatches, the unidentifiable kitchen implements, the rusty old hand tools and colorful glass bottles... Every item seemed to have endless possibilities and my imagination would turn them into something far more valuable, far more exciting than any new toy he could have given me.
I still get that Christmas-morning feeling when I walk into a thrift store, stroll through a junkyard, or get the opportunity to clean out an old shed or barn that has been sitting under a thick layer of dust for many years... I still see the endless possibilities in it all, and am now able to take those out of my imagination and turn them into real things - things that are not only nice to look at, and outrageously unique, but fun and functional as well.
I love making this stuff out of junk, but what I enjoy even more is sharing it with others - I hope that these items I create bring you as much joy in having as they have brought me in the making.
