I was always into fashion. I was the one who put on her moms old pearls and walked around the house in her purple heels. I guess I was destined since birth to do what I do. I've always loved anything artsy. I LOVE dancing, singing, drawing, cooking, photography, sewing, and many more.
I first started making jewelry when my dad took me to a fishing expo. I saw some sparkly black and green spinner bait blades, I was about 10 at the time, and said, "Daddy I should put these on earrings!" After that my dream flourished. I started selling earrings for $1 at my school playground in 5th grade! From there I started making more things and expanding my horizons.
I work out of my house! Actually it would be more precise to say my puny square little room that still has pink paint on the walls since I was a kid. Summer for me is the best time in the world since I can just sit at home and make my jewelry!
I love to go to small bead stores to find my supplies! They always have to most unique and beautiful beads that you can't find at your average Micheals, Joanns, or AC Moore! I am lucky to have access to two small bead stores along with all three retail stores!
I am inspired by the world around me! Everyday I see something in nature or in the city that spikes my interest and makes me think!
When I was about 11 I sold my earrings at a small boutique in Bethlehem, PA called Stone Soup. I sold my earrings there until it closed down a few years ago. I now know how privileged I was to be included in so many amazing opportunities at such a young age.
I am pursuing my love of fashion and jewelry at The Fashion Institute of Technology. This fall I will start as a Fashion Business Management major and I will also be minoring in Spanish. One day I hope to become a buyer, stylist, or work in product development. However, it would be amazing if one day I could own my own company.
