Shipping

FOR UK (INLAND) SHIPMENTS:~
I ship all my yarns inland (UK) by First Class. I obtain proof of posting for ALL my parcels but unless you choose Special Delivery, I can only be held responsible for the first £46 of any claim for lost/damaged parcels. You can choose to have your parcel sent by Special Delivery in which case your parcel is fully insured. Please contact me at the time of placing your order to arrange Special Delivery and I will send you an additional Paypal invoice.

FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:~
All items sent internationally are shipped by standard Airmail Small Parcels unless you choose the Airsure option which provides compensation if your parcel is lost or damaged in the mail. I obtain proof of posting certificates for ALL my parcels, so unless you have chosen to pay the extra for an insured method of shipping (i.e. Airsure or another service agreed at the time with me) I cannot be held in any way responsible for parcels that do not arrive or that arrive damaged. Please contact me at the time of placing your order to arrange Airsure or another method of delivery and I will send you an additional Paypal invoice.

Additional policies and FAQs

I use a range of techniques and each lends a different character to the yarn. I blend my colours from a base set of dyes, so skeins may have glazes, flecks, tweedy/heathery effects, undertones, random speckles or spots of colour, etc, and may knit as nearly-solid, semi solid or variegated depending on the technique used (I try to give guidance on this in my descriptions of each skein).

Hand dyed yarns are, by their very nature, unique so no two skeins will ever be identical, even those from the same dye batch. It is recommended that you alternate between skeins every couple of rows if this is likely to bother you.

Knots/joins - these are an unavoidable part of the spinning process so you may, very occasionally, find a knot or join in a skein. Happily, the vast majority of my skeins have no knots :)

My yarns are sold by weight. Please be aware that yarn can absorb up to 7% moisture or humidity so may weigh very slightly differently depending on your climate or weather; this should not cause concern as I err on the side of caution when labelling and you will most often have a couple of extra grams to play with.

I reskein all my yarns before shipping.

Colours are represented as accurately as possible but they may appear differently on your screen, monitor or mobile device and although I describe them as best I can to guide you, my subjective perception of a colour may differ from yours. This is unavoidable so please feel free to contact me if you need more information.
