This is our story
Venice was one of my dream travels, so I decided to include it on my vacation that year, I had no idea of the impact this would have on my life. When I left the train station I was astonished and amazed admiring the beauty of the city.
The next day and for the rest of the trip,I walked through streets, museums and all possible places could fill me of art and Literature, I visited the 5th National Library, the Great Library Marciana, I had lunch at the Harrys Bar, Ernest Hemingway´s favorite place, I admired masterpieces of famous painters and sculptors in my tour of churches and palaces of this fascinating city . I enjoyed the experience inmensely.
On my return to USA, I continued with my normal life, and like any girl in a relationship, I decided to marry and raise a family. The start was happy, but soon the problems started, what once were happy reunions with friends, fun dinners and a few drinks, degenerated into stormy moments where a serios drinking problem approaching. Being a wife of a drinker means continuing domestic fights, mistreatment, psychological and physical abuse, along with other problems, like work, money and the sadness and helplessness of seeing a family falling apart.
During these dramatic moments I looked how to keep busy and entertein my mind with something positive and encouraging and came to my mind my wonderful trip to Venice, every time I remembered all the art I had seen and books I had read I found comfort and took forces to find a solution for my problem, get out of that situation and seek happiness in my life. It is at this moment where I made one of my first pendant necklace with the image of Young Girls at the Piano by Renoir, one of my favorite paintings, I wore it all the time because it made me feel near to art all the time.
It had been 5 years and all my efforts to help him had been completed and the situation had reached a point where I had two options: continue the hell that had become my marriage and destroy me, or write the word END to the last chapter of that novel and start a new book ......... but this time with a Happy Ending.
I chose the second option, I decided to risk it all, quit my job and moved to Venice, to start a brand new life, it was difficult at the beginning but hard work and the willingness to overcome obstacles made me find harmony in my life for the first time after many years........I was happy again.
A few years laters I met my husband, an Italian woodworker artist with the hobby of reading, collecting books and write short stories. Just a Perfect Match made!, and as the saying goes, all roads lead to Rome, in this case, all roads led me to Literature and Art!
That is how we decided to join our backgrounds, he as an artist and I as expert in sewing and handcrafted jewelry and create LiteraryArtPrints, to celebrate Love, we started with a romantic scarf from Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy, with Paolo and Francesca fragment, my husband original illustration was such a success that we sold the first batch in one weekend and we had to make prints to fullfil our customers request, still Dante Scarf is a bestseller in our store.
