I truly believe in handmade items, and am spreading this love by supporting fellow crafters and artists. I feel there's a soul to everything handmade, and you purchase not only the product, but also the story, love and care the artist put into it.

I've been tinkering with all kinds of crafts for as long as I can remember. My parents had a hard time to remove glue from carpets, sticky tape from walls and watercolors all over the place except on the designated paper. I've never been good at maths, physics or biology, but tend to be more talented when it comes to music, sewing and handicrafts.

Mina Malaise is not my actual name, but stands for my artistic and crafty processes and projects in my life. It is a combination of the nickname for "girl" in Portuguese, and the term "malaise", a slightly melancholic frame of mind.

My greatest source of inspiration are my dear friends and acquaintances. Listening to their individual needs and ideas gets my creative engine started. I love to come up with the best selection of fabrics and materials, especially tailored to the particular taste of someone.

I mostly craft in my living-room turned studio on my two vintage sewing machines from the 60s and 80s. My creative space is - most of the times - productively chaotic.
