Me, at 18, with my first two sewing machines!
My rock. She is trusty, she is all metal, and the last mechanic who saw here said I should never leave her.

Vintage, re-used, re-purposed, re-made and re-loved.

I have been perhaps a little bit too fond of searching thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales. I have a LOT of vintage fabric. I am now culling the stash and thinking up things to make and sell here.

My ideas are pretty much all over the place at the moment. This means that you might find a make-up bag. Or a knitting tote. Or a hat made from a cashmere sweater. Or ?

At present, it is all about using what I have on hand as much as humanly possible. Once I am through all of that, we'll just see. I am leaning heavily towards a line of plus-sized women's clothing. Or as I prefer to put it, cute clothes for fat chicks. Or baby clothes. Because I have come into a mass quantity of linen that I need to use up.

Owner, I Am The Do-er Of All The Things!!

I have always enjoyed vintage fabric. I found, at a fairly young age, that it was usually cheaper than anything in the stores. I had a rather minimal clothing allowance as a kid and had to get all creative. This also meant that I sewed many of my own clothes and often I would use things like vintage table linens. I went to fashion school and have a degree in fashion design. I have also done a fair bit of work in various parts of the textile world. Including costuming, painting fabric and working at a furrier. I also knit, spin and very much enjoy dyeing things. I also know how to weave, but lack room for a loom. Those things are huge. I have a very weak place in my heart for all things vintage and also have a vintage etsy shop. msbettiesvintage.etsy.com

This started with a knitting pattern. A pattern that wasn't really a pattern yet. But it gave me this idea. I am one lady sewing stuff in her home workshop. I do not have the space or time to take on yarn dyeing too. This seemed like a good way to make this happen.
