Hello,
My name is Agnieszka Zabawa. I specialize in paintings, drawings, book illustrations and photography, especially black and white . Painting is my passion and a way to experience the world.
I came to USA more than five years ago for many reasons, one of them was my dream to see New York City.
I am especially fascinated by the different shapes, sizes and colors of New York, not forgetting the amazing mix of people from all over the world, and of course, the yellow taxis. In my work I try to render the feeling of a pulsing and vibrating metropolis. I attempt to capture a busy city from a different, more surreal perspective - catching the aerial view. From this point, people seem surreal - their small silhouettes disappear into the shadows of the high buildings that scrape the New York skies.
Looking at the city from so high up, Manhattan comes across as a coherent organism with the street taking the role of veins and the avenues - arteries.
