When I was a little girl, one of my most cherished possessions was my plaid lunchbox. To the unknowing eye there was nothing particularly special about it - it was just an ordinary metal lunchbox. But to me it was precious!

Every day at school when lunchtime rolled around I would eagerly open my plaid lunchbox and find a surprise from my mom -- a funny note or poem, a chocolate treat or my favorite sandwich cut into a unique shape. These things were subtle reminders of how much my Mom loved me, and they never failed to put a smile on my face.
