I bought this for my husband and he loves the look and eagle stamp. Unfortunately the leather is pretty stiff, which makes it difficult to use with his business cards.

My primary work bench where most of my cutting, fabricating and assembly goes on.
A view of a piece of leather in it's natural state after tanning. This is how all the pieces begin.
Some of the tools used in the process. Many are passed down from my grandfather.
The lightbox and Nikon D90 that captures all the images of the completed pieces.
The insert card that ships with each order, detailing the unique product and process, and hand signed by me...

I am my shop...

With a background in retail management, I knew well what a business needed to do to be successful and it all came back to the customers.
To create something that inspires or catches the eye of someone else is a great feeling as is helping others to bring their visions to fruition.
I love to create with leather because each piece can be so different and distinct from the previous, and can take the design in many directions.
I draw from native influence as well as nature and wildlife and a Celtic background while trying to incorporate new and fresh inspiration as well.
After many years of doing leather work as a hobby and creating for family and friends, I had the encouragement to try to bring my business sense and creative sense together and from this arose NorthernLeather.
Etsy has allowed me to reach a vast audience and it is truly astonishing how far my leather work has travelled through the world.
I enjoy every minute of each step of the process and have never looked back...
