I have long been captivated by a material called clay. And my story starts with that captivation. I was walking through college registration trying to fill out the classes I needed when I noticed a graduate student standing on a table shouting at the top of his voice "Get your Fine Art required credit here!". I needed that particular credit and the grad student was rather hard to avoid so I signed up for the class.

That class was a clay class and it was a revelation to me. I had not only found a calling as an artist but I had also found the medium that would captivate me for the rest of my life. For the most part, I have taught clay and art in order to support my habit.

Various businesses all centered around art, clay and teaching have supported my clay habit over the years. Porcelain Jazz and its Etsy shop is but the latest of these businesses.

Porcelain Jazz was started in the garage of my Lubbock, TX house. In 2013 I moved to a house in a close by small town, Slaton, TX. It had a great garage studio space which served me well until I met and married a man from Chicago September 3rd, 2016.

I moved the household and pottery 1100 miles to Glen Ellyn, IL and set up the pottery again in a garage.

The third move of my household and Porcelain Jazz just occurred in May of 2019. Yet again the pottery studio is in boxes and the garage space needs organizing and shelving.

After repairing the kiln's brick and electrical, I'm up and producing pottery again as of beginning of 2021.
