My name is Lauren and I am the artist and owner of The Pottery Marketplace. I began as a hobby potter in 2006 at a local community arts center. I have had a creative bug since a child, I cannot remember a time where I was not attending some form of art class; this stemmed from my mothers passion for the arts and my creative curiosity.

In the most recent years, I have focused mainly on ceramics continuing to cultivate my knowledge and skills in the craft. Pottery has taught me the importance of time and patience. A single piece of pottery can take several weeks to complete from start to finish; it is not an instant process. I am grateful for my many teachers, peers and the ceramic community who have helped me to grow my knowledge and skills to build my craft.

Each item in my shop is handmade by myself and is a one of a kind piece. Everything is unique based on the clay body and glaze combination. I love adding surface texture or using color combinations to create visual interest. I use both hand building or wheel throwing techniques to create each piece.
