Once upon a time, I wanted to impress a boy.
Years later, I cannot remember exactly why I thought learning to knit and knitting a surprise scarf (of love) was the key to his heart. In the end, I fell deeply in love not with this young lad, but with this ever enchanting and always adaptable craft… knitting.
With more than ten years of knitting experience to my credit, I continue to hone my craft and share a bit of wooly love through knitted accessories. After years of knitting all sorts of hats, scarves, mittens, and even sweaters for my dear loved ones, it dawned on me that I could profit from my passion. In 2012, I asked my 95-year-old nana for a business loan of $100 with which I purchased a batch of yarn to begin knitting for my shop. With the help of roommate models and friends-turned-photographers, I opened Red Fox Knits.
Here in my Etsy shop, moebius cowls and infinity scarves take center stage. Each creation is a one-of-a-kind original scarf/cowl that is designed to keep your neck extra snuggly and stylish. A moebius strips is a surface with only one side, only one boundary component, and has the mathematical property of being non-orientable… huh? Essentially, these knitted tubes have a half-twist that uniquely leaved them with no right or wrong sides.
I hope you enjoy browsing my shop and please do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested in a custom order.
P.S. The scarf of love worked. That boy with whom I was so enamored was definitely impressed and we enjoyed a sweet, albeit short, teenage romance.
