I've always felt that a personalized gift says so much more to the recipient than a gift that can be purchased from a regular retail store. A gift that has been personalized with that special someone's favorite hobby, or passion, goes so much further to let that person know how much you care.
I've always spent my life either making special gifts, or accentuating gifts for those that I care for, to make them extra special. I am always thrilled when the recipient opens their gift and to see the surprise on their face and the tears in their eyes as they take their special gift out of the safety of the box and proudly shows it off to everyone that is around them.
That's what I work hard to do for all of my customers. I want them to feel that joy for themselves knowing that they've given, not just a gift, but a bit of themselves to their recipient and know that they will never be forgotten.
My husband and I started on this crazy adventure in 2005. We were trained by Norm and Ruth Dobbins in the art of glass etching and carving the old fashioned way, through sandblasting. We call it the dirty art, but the end results are so worth it because it gives you, the artist, the freedom of going beyond the simple etching with the use of creams or laser, but to create three dimensional works of art that are not only beautiful but functional as well.
But not everyone can afford the costs of etched glass using this method, though. and after being asked on numerous occasions for gift ideas that were full color, we branched out to include full color sublimation to our customers. Both of these types of gifts are sold in our initial etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/WesleyReneeStudio.
But more recently, we found the benefit of a UV printer that would allow me to create our designs on the computer and the print them on our substrates. Now this, my friends, is after all what my crafting heart can work with. Our first offering is starting out with Door Hangers, Porch Wall Art and Lazy Susan Turntables, but will be expanding very soon.
So, as the saying goes: "Come along with me, my friends, the BEST is yet to BE!!
