Serephine got its official start in June, 2010, after Erin Brooks' own wedding, for which she searched high and low for a headpiece that was elegant, yet simple, and that had a superior level of craftsmanship. What she couldn't find, she made!
After a few years of running, Serephine was invited to take part in the Etsy x Nordstrom partnership, and continues to be sold in Nordstrom today, with an exclusive line in their stores and available in their online wedding suite.
With each passing year, Serephine has gotten increasingly busy, and it was time to expand: enter Lisa TenEyck, who like Erin is an alumna of Scripps College, a fellow Seattleite, and a mom. She's also a studio artist and a medical doctor! Lisa has trained with and worked along side Erin, creating Serephine originals, and contributing fresh, new styles, and now continues the line while Erin takes a step back to focus on her growing family, yet remains a valuable part of the Serephine brand.
Serephine's items are well-known for their originality, quality, and the fact they are meticulously handcrafted, layer by layer, petal by petal, out of loose materials, in a free-form style, using only the best fabrics, notions, and feathers. The silks used to hand-make each and every flower are hand-dyed and hand-painted with original custom, hand-mixed Serephine dye blends. All flowers are hand-formed using both traditional millinery irons, and proprietary techniques. These very special and unique details are why each piece is truly couture and completely gorgeous, just like the brides who wear them. A lot of time and heart goes into each piece, and you simply won't find anything as thoughtfully handmade elsewhere.
