5 out of 5 starsEasy to use and wash. The quilting pattern helps it from bunching up.

5 out of 5 starsI purchased multiple sizes for my 18" waist dog. I use 19" if I'm using a liner from this shop and 17" if not using a liner or if using a thinner disposable pad. I use them on client dogs as well. It stays very well on fluffy dogs. On single layer, sleek coats, it is easier for the dog to slide it down and to prevent this you must put it on very tight. Elastic would be helpful on the lower friction fur types.

5 out of 5 starsThese belly band liners/soakers work well. If your dog is able to loosen the belly band by dragging their belly across carpet the liner is likely to fall out but if your dog isn't so adept at getting the belly band down then these do a great job of not letting pee reach the belly band or leak out.

5 out of 5 starsI have now bought a total of 11 of these belly bands. They are the best I've ever found! Great comfortable tapered design and they hold up very well after much time in the washer and drier. Quick shipping. Highly recommended!

HOW DO I MEASURE FOR THE WAIST SIZE?
MEASURING for the WAIST Size is NOT the measurement for the full length (end to end) of the belly band...it's the actual waist Measurement around your dog (top of spine, over penis & back to spine). You provide the waist measurement & I add for the seams and Velcro.
For the best fit stick the pad you will be using on the inside of the measuring tape. Measure in three places ...
. . . . (1) Half the width of your band in front of the penis (EX: if width is 4" measure 2" in front penis tip)
. . . . (2) Over the tip end of the penis
. . . . (3) Half the width of your band behind the end of the penis (about mid shaft of penis). (EX: if width is 4" measure 2" in behind penis tip)
Use the largest measurement for the Actual Waist Size.
CARE OF YOUR BELLY BAND
CARE: ... Machine wash warm water & tumble dry. Keep Velcro closed to avoid damage. To sanitize use 1/2 to 1 cup of White Vinegar in washer, NEVER USE chlorine bleach or fabric softener... oxy-bleach OK for cotton bands not for the PUL, or any band made with absorbent material.
WHAT IF YOU ORDER THE WRONG SIZE?
SewDog Belly Bands are underwear; No one wants to purchase a band that may have been on another dog. It's about safety and health.
For these reasons I do not accept exchanges or returns.
If you have ordered a too small band; for a small fee I can make you an extender. I should say in most cases. Purchasing an x-small band I can not make an extender to fit for a large waist. Generally 1" to 3" The velcro can't be along the side of your dog. Stiffness of the velcro will rub in all the wrong places.
If you have ordered a too large band; you can try adding an extra pad up the inside sides of the band to take up more space.
Or consider donating your band to a local rescue group. They are always very much in need.
WHY IS A SEWDOG BELLY BAND QUILTED?
SewDog Belly Bands are made with three separate layers.
...By quilting the layers the band is stronger, durable & more stable.
...The layers don't shift.
...The batting will not wad up when washed and dried.
...A SewDog band comes out of the washer & dryer exactly like it goes in.
...Line drying is not necessary but the tag loop can be used for hanging up to air dry.
...It's handsome, very soft, unique & VERY comfortable for the dog.
...Yes, it's different and no one else quilts their bands. Because it's very very time consuming. But so worth it for you because it's going to last & last. You may tire of the fabric pattern before it wears out. Also because it's handsome!
WHAT KIND OF PAD DO I USE?
I recommend and use the incontinent pads. Since Walmart changed the generic pads they use to carry; I now use and recommend the "Poise" brand of incontinent pads. I prefer the longest pad option. Since my boys are small dogs I cut my pads into thirds.
Scroll down on SewDog Etsy homepage and see how I cut and place the pads on the belly band.
But Sanitary pads work just fine too.
There are some dogs sensitive to the chemicals the pads are made with. You will know pretty quick if your dog is like this because a rash breaks out within a few hours. If this happens I have washable / waterproof pads to insert within the band. This way all that is touching your boy's skin is the velvet feel of anti-pill fleece.
WHY SHOULD YOU PURCHASE A SEWDOG BELLY BAND?
Several aspects of the SewDog belly band make it superior to most bands on the market today.
. . .Top quality materials go into a SewDog band: quilting quality cotton, anti-pill fleece, medical grade hook and loop tape, excellent grade fiber batting and even the thread is carefully selected. It's all part of making a top quality belly band.
. . .The long tapered design is a vital element to a superior belly band. It's made to fit with the anatomy of your dog. Giving free range of motion & comfort.
It's going to last a long, long time. So worth your money.
The real difference is the quilting; not just for looks. It's another step in making a strong, supportive, long lasting, comfortable and attractive belly band.
ZORB INFO (WASHABLE PADS)
Absorbs 10x its weight in fluid at rates nearly 20x faster than traditional cotton, bamboo & hemp knit fabrics. A great aspect of this fabric is its ability to spread the fluid and hold it within it's fibers even with compression..... when your boy lays on his belly band the fluid is not going to be squeezed out.
For absorption comparison -
One (1) Zorb layer equal to: 1.3 layers of fleece
2.25 layers of French terry or 3 layers of flannel
Two (2) Zorb layers equal to: 5 layers of fleece
6 layers of French terry or 8 layers of flannel
For each layer add 1/4" for thickness
Made Of: A blend of cellulosic fibers from cotton/tencel/bamboo/other interspersed with polyester nylon
Maximum absorbency comes after a few wash/dry cycles.
HOW DO I MEASURE FOR THE WIDTH OF A BELLY BAND?
Measure from mid-shaft of your boy's penis to the tip; double that measurement..... You want your boy's business end to be in the center of the band. voila! ...that is the width and order size your boy needs.
The width measurement is probably the most important measurement for a belly band. The width does not have velcro to help on adjustments like the length (waist) does.... so it needs to be correct.
>>A too wide dog diaper will twist, bunch, roll-up and rub on the back legs... definitely not comfortable!
>>A too narrow dog diaper... your boy is going to pee out the end of the band. Kind of defeats the purpose... right?
It should NOT cover the ribcage or any part of the back leg.
