What inspires Abernathy's?

What inspired you to get into the business you are in today?

Business ownership along with the freedom to create has been a shared life long goal for Becca Clark and Nicole Adams. Both having come from small towns in rural Iowa, being independent and unique was always the road less traveled. Becca and Nicole meet at 18 while working for a DIY clothing co-op shop. After spending several years working for other shops and traveling the country selling their products, the two took an opportunity to strike out on their own and make a name for Abernathy's.

How do you define success for yourself and for your business?

Abernathy's is not only a place, but a way of redefining what it is to be unique and one-of-a-kind. We define success by our ability to offer our customers an experience in the store that leaves them with the overall sense of being content with who they are, the way they look, and how they feel. Whether this is done by a hand altered piece of vintage clothing, custom made jewelry, or even a simple chat about style, we strive to provide a heaping dose of confidence with every transaction.

Becca is a Co-owener at Abernathy's, she's a metal step-mama, karaoke queen, and sassy-ass seamstress. Becca works hard to curate the store's selection of 1930's to mid 1960's true vintage selection. She has been selling vintage on Etsy since 2006.

Owner, Creator, Designer

Red is a Co-owner at Abernathy's. Red is a jewelry designer, vintage hair stylist, burlesque performer, mama, tattoo collector, and lover of dead stuff and anything macabre. She's known for turning bones into beautiful wearable creations.
