Slate Expectations will be closed for vacation until April 26, 2024. Any orders placed before April 18 will be completed and shipped out and the regular two week time frame. any questions, you can still message me through my store store but there may be some delay in answering questions.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR MESSAGES REGULARLY AFTER ORDERING IN CASE I HAVE A QUESTION. YOUR ORDER CAN BE HELD UP IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT PERSONALIZING. When I receive an order, I will confirm it with an APPROXIMATE shipping date for you. This may change as my product is hand painted and life happens. As evidenced in my reviews, I make every effort to make sure that your purchasing experience is a positive one.
Please be aware that you are buying a piece of roofing slate, not a piece of tile with perfect edges. Sometimes the holes are uneven, but it does not effect how the slate hangs. All of the edges of the slate are unique. You are buying an old antique shingle, not a new tile.
AT THIS TIME I DO NOT OFFER THE METAL STANDS FOR THE SLATES THAT I OFFER AT MY CRAFT FAIRS. If you would like to order one in the New England area, please message me. They are also available at my shows this year. Many of the designs that fit in the new metal stand design are offered here on my store but would be modified to fit the stand that I offer. If you have purchased one of my stands at my craft fairs, I can make a slate to fit. I DO NOT guarantee that a slate that you order from me will fit in a different style or stand that was purchased from someone else. Stands will be offered on my website www.Slateexpectations.com next year. (2024)
Custom orders for different designs other than what I offer are not available at this time. (In January I do take a small number of special orders, but they need to be approved ahead of time and there is an additional charge). I DO NOT OFFER FREE SHIPPING AT THIS TIME, except on the DIY items.
Free Personalizing is included if you'd like it (lettering only). Fill out the personalization question or "notes to seller" when ordering. If personalization request does not show up on your invoice, I cannot guarantee your item will be personalized. It will be buyers responsibility to return the item for personalization, ie: shipping fees. If you have requested personalization, PLEASE check your messages after ordering in case I have a question.
If you do not want personalization, please fill in "no personalization" in that section. Most items include the Welcome automatically, but not all, so please be specific, ie: "include welcome", "no personalization"....etc. Once an item has been personalized, I do not issue refunds for the slate or shipping.

Thank you again Justin! A lot of people don’t realize that the slates that I use have been on the roof of houses for in excess of 80 years sometimes and they are recycled. I hand cut each one. I’m so glad that you’re happy with your purchase!

Custom and personalized orders
Most of my items can be personalized with special wording that you choose. I stay away from custom orders (from pics, etc.) but you are welcome to message me and see if it is something I can do. If I can't, it isn't because I don't want to, but because in order to do my craft as a business, it just isn't cost effective.
