Snail and Cicada

Hello! My name is Sonia. I am the girl behind Snail and Cicada.

I was inspired to create a plush avocado from felt one day. I realized none were really out there at the time. This led me to open my Etsy shop in January 2013.

When it comes to sewing there is something so gratifying about completing every stitch, whether it be by my hands or with the help of my old sewing machine, which was gifted to me by my mom as a teenager. Speaking of my mom, she framed and displayed my art around her house when I was a little girl, and I like to think that encouraged me to keep going. :-)

My inspiration comes from my love of nature, musicians, random objects that surround me, my son, other amazing artists...
