When I was very young, I was always dipping into my mother's jewelry box, piling on as many items as I could, loving the mixtures of colours and textures playing together.
As I grew older, and began paying attention to fashion and trends, I often saw items that I loved, and already knew that accessorizing with jewelry was something that would shape me as a person.
My desire to make necklaces and bracelets and earrings that brought to life my ideas urged me to start learning how to make my own pieces. I started small, reading articles and taking out library books learning anything I could. I took courses in art institutes and developed my skills.
I was offered a position teaching private courses in a Montreal-based jewelry supplier, and taught there for five years until I was offered a position teaching in the very art institute in which I studied, a very proud moment still to this day. I remained there as a teacher for four years.
I am proud to make elaborate custom pieces. I pride myself in making sure that an item suits it's owner. I use the highest caliber of gemstone for my higher end and custom products. I was thrilled to make jewelry to be worn by the prima ballerina of Les grands ballets Canadiens.
As I've sold privately for many years, and have branched out to selling in Montreal based retailers, I have decided to open an online shop that offers a more affordable line of jewelry to start, with the intent to add the higher end pieces on which my reputation has been built.
I believe that jewelry is an art, and a wonderful representation of an individual's personality. I am honoured that I am able to be a part of that.
