It all began in the early 2000's when I moved from NYC to Washington, DC, six months after 9/11. I had just started back to school to complete my art degree and needed a way to make some money. Named after my favorite Barbie, (Superstar Barbie) I started an eBay store called Secret Superstar. I sold the OOAK Barbie dolls that I customized and also started to sell off my extensive collection of vintage clothing. In May 2005 I moved back to Brooklyn, where shopping at thrift stores was still my joy. I briefly continued my eBay store, though I no longer sold dolls, just the vintage clothing I so adored. In 2009 I had begun to make vintage inspired jewelry and decided to open a Etsy shop under the name TeaandPetitFours. At that time I sold my jewelry along with continuing to sell off more of the vintage items I have been collecting since I was a child. Recently I have ventured into the world of print on demand, in order to print my original art into clothing

I have always loved old things, things that have a story, that is why I chose that specific Interpol lyric as my shop headline. When I am at thrift stores or looking at my own collections of the variety of second hand things I own, I often think about the people who owned them before me. Many of these things, most likely mattered so much to them, they were the keepsakes of those who have come and gone, who loved and who were loved.

My "Sad Girl Art" Collection of print on demand clothing is born out of the keepsakes the people that you love, leave branded on your heart, for better or worse.
