Totally Blown Glassworks is located in Seattle, WA.

My work is handmade at my Seattle hot glass studio. I don’t have a retail space at the studio and mainly sell online with an occasional local event.

A Seattle native, I fell in love with working with molten glass in 1987 while pursuing my major. I received my BFA in Ceramics and BA from the University of Washington in 1992. After graduation I joined the staff at the Pratt Fine Arts Center and the Pilchuck Glass School as both instructor and studio technician.

I describe myself as a “glass minimalist.” My designs are quite elaborate but, I prefer to use the simple techniques of the ancient art form to create my elegant works of art while focusing on rich, bold, intense colors and patterns. In addition to the traditional techniques of glass blowing, I incorporate technical elements of hot glass sculpting and casting in my predominately blown forms.

In 1997 I opened my hot glass studio “TBGW, LLC”. Blown glass is still the focus of my designs, but I have kept my hands in glass casting by working with architects, designers and artists as a consultant and fabricator of glass elements for larger installations.

Glass is a complex material. Unlike all other media’s, it can be transformed to look like stone, wood, clay, and metal. It has endless chameleon like possibilities. And, it is the only material that can be truly transparent.
