I have never been one of those people who know exactly what they want to do when they “grow up”. I'm curious. I love travelling. I love learning about new things and trying new experiences. I’ll ‘have a go’ at most things. And of course I love to make. For many years I simply worked in an office...I saved my pennies, travelled the world whenever I could, started silversmithing evening classes (quite significant, that bit...!) and met my lovely husband, but there was always a gnawing feeling that the 9-5 wasn't for me.

In May 2012 I took the leap and quit the day job to set up own jewellery business. I haven’t looked back! I love that I get to sit down and make beautiful things from scratch, using traditional metalsmithing techniques, with a few hand files, a saw and a small blow torch. My jewellery is often subtle and contemporary. In my opinion, less is often more.

The environment is very important to me and I constantly strive to minimise my impact. The ethical values I apply to everyday life also apply in the workshop. Nothing goes to waste, everything is reused or recycled, including packaging materials. I only use Fairtrade or recycled gold and I only buy gemstones that are ethically sourced wherever possible.

I am kept company while I work by our little chocolate Labrador, Daisy. In 2014 our family grew to include our wonderful daughter, Ella, and so I am currently working part time.
