Cats rule my life. They always have and always will.
I started my Etsy shop for 2 reasons: to be able to donate to charity and to afford new supplies, so I can keep my creativity flowing.

The charity of my choice of course involves cats. Help de Zwerfkat (Help the Stray Cat) is a Dutch shelter for senior/disabled/traumatized cats that are too feral to be placed in a family. Instead, the shelter offers them a safe haven with food, medical care and lots of love. They can spend their golden years there and of course there's a strong no-kill policy.
I financially adopted Pim, sending a monthly donation to the shelter to cover at least his basic needs.

We currently have 4 cats living with us: Pavlov, Rachmaninov and Bram are rescues and Molotov was born here.

In my daily life I volunteer in the mental health section. My own yellow brick road has been bumpy and I want to support others who walk that same road. Both life and several classes taught me how to do this in a safe and constructive way.
In the end, often all it takes is listening to someone's story, without judging and without an overload of advices. Being there is what counts.

I learned to crochet only a couple of years ago. In my childhood, people said it would be too hard to teach me since I'm left handed.
I fell in love with amigurumi, the Japanese art of crocheting cute creatures, so I decided to give it a try. A friend tried to teach me, I bought a book that would teach me, but my fingers just refused to do the job. But finally, there were the tutorials on YouTube! I'd recommend this way of learning to anyone!
Lots of creatures have come out of my hands since that moment and I developed my own style of quirky looking kitties. And of course I make cat toys as well!

I also love to draw and photograph, which results in bookmarks, cards and art prints. I combine paper & ink with digital possibilities to create the style I love.

Everything in my shop is handmade, and a lot of it is one of a kind. I try to have reasonable prices and affordable shipping. Happy customers mean a lot to me, so if you have any questions, ideas or feedback: it's very welcome!
