Yuya delivers a completely unique experience. He communicates throughout the forging process and one can see how a thin piece of cold steel is shaped and forged into a living piece of metal. Upon receiving the pan, there is a noticeable aura of craftsmanship emanating from the metal. The lid especially had a more rough and hammered texture, yet perfectly smooth and curved. Most importantly, the pot conducts heat well and the cooks great. I have ordered a few more pieces to use and hopefully pass on as heirlooms to future generations.

Mr Kobayashi produces some of finest cookware in the entire world. His handmade pots and pans represent a lost art, with many qualities that are exceedingly difficult to find in our modern world. The items I ordered are of exceptional quality and are much healthier to use than your standard non stick pan. The way they conduct heat is absolutely incredible. It was honestly well worth the wait!!! I will never touch another frying pan again!

Not only is this cooking utensil, This is fine art Kobayashi-san is very friendly and polite. One of the best sellers I had ever came across. Not only is the work beautiful and of high quality but he shows you the process to really appreciate it. I ordered the spatula and ladle set. Because I want something of high quality I can use throughout my cooking. And very pleased to say that every time I use these tools they make me happy and want to cook more. I like the ladle especially, because upon close inspection. One can see how meticulously he hammered “iron shibori” technique to get it into shape. And I find that really neat. Im very interested in his other products and hope to make a collection. So my family can continue to use them as well. And hope they will appreciate it as much as the work Kobayashi put into them.

Yuya is delightful to communicate with and his work shows unique craftsmanship that should be celebrated. The wok is light and beautiful. I could not be happier with this piece.
