If you asked me 10 year ago if I would like to be a jeweler, I would think someone must be out of mind.

At present, I am not only a full time jeweler but also a designer. I not only own a shop but also have a team. I couldn't be happier with what I am doing now.

But the path is not easy. I came from a completely different background. No one would believe I was once a researcher. I quited the job because I like to do hands-on work. Thankfully the research experience helped me to learn knowledge and master skills quickly. I worked from the simplest beading to metal sawing, fabricating, engraving, then advanced to soldering, casting and plating. I worked from an assistant to now being an independent jeweler and designer. I've attended a lot of workshops and went to numerous tradeshows. Roads are bumpy but I've enjoyed every moment handmaking jewelries.

Thanks to Etsy market, I was able to reach more people from just selling to friends or at the local craft markets. It felt a bit strange at first to ship to someone across the continent, but it melt my heart when people showed me the jewelry on them and thanked me for my work. We are connected by the beautiful gems. :) With the increased volume, we now collaborate with markers in North America, Italy and Asia in addition to the pieces we finish in house, but we continually raise the bar and drive our partners to deliver high-quality products.

Look back 10 years, I've made the widest but wisest decision, I've never regreted for a second and I will be looking forward to making more pretty jewleries for you.
