Lori started out in 2008 taking a jewelry fabrication class at her favorite studio. Jewelry combines her lifelong love of finding objects and using her hands to create. Thousands of hours later 1000 Kisses was created in the small corner of her Manhattan apartment. She designs, makes and finishes pieces at her bench. In 2012 life was forever changed. Lori and Xavier had a baby boy. By 2014 they moved her bench and her family to Northern Virginia. She works from home and her toddler fills her days with laughter and she designs and creates by night.

The branch bracelet, bubble collection, letters and flower necklace and some flower rings are made using the last wax casting process. Lori uses a caster who works with recycled metal to create castings. (Gold and fine silver are SCScertified -100% recycled & from a metal company that is Made in the USA) Each if these collections are designed, fabricated, and made by Lori. She makes many originals and samples out of metal before sending the sample piece to the caster. For example with the bubble collection she hand made each fine silver ball, formed a ring band, individually soldered each ball to the ring and cleaned and polished the piece. Once the ring sample is the desired design, size and quality a mold is made and castings are made. After the castings are complete Lori cuts and files the sprues, cleans the piece and sizes rings, solders any additional components, hammers and work harden the piece and completes the final polish.

All my gemstone pieces are 100% handmade by me. I don't use any outside manufacturing for these pieces. I've cast my bubble rings so I can make a consistent looking piece every time. I use casting on the twig bracelets and other twig rings because it is the only way to make a real twig into a bracelet and that is exactly what I wanted.
