Originally hailing from Wisconsin (love), I now live in sunny Asheville, North Carolina where the winters do not freeze my eyelashes together. By day, I work as a multimedia developer and animator. I make art, music and walk in nature just about every other spare minute.

I grew up in a family of readers and teachers. Children's books were prized, especially if the illustrations were beautiful or funny. Some of my hero illustrators are Trina Schart Hyman, Garth Williams, William Steig, Walt Kelly, Richard Scarry and many more. Humor was everpresent and cute funny animals a delight.

My mind is both technical and creative at the same time, so that combination is good for animation and computer work, but to me there is no substitution for pencil and paper. I will always put pencil to paper and find coloring meditative. My ideas come from walking in nature, but sometimes driving, taking a shower, anything mundane. :)

I work in pencil, then ink, then watercolor pencils. My other style is construction paper collage. I will drive myself crazy to get it right, bringing an idea to life. I hope to spread joy, smiles and laughter and if I have done that for you, then I have done something right. Thanks for stopping. :)
