WOODEN NURSERY NAME SIGN FOR BABY AND KIDS BOY OR GIRL ROOM DECOR WOOD WALL LETTERS GLITTERED
WHAT KIND OF WOOD DO WE USE? We use 1/2 thick, furniture grade Russian Baltic Birch which is different from MDF and Birch plywood. 1/2 thick wood gives a nice dimensional look to the wall, anything thinner can be very flimsy and look like it is laying flat on the wall. I have done a lot of research to what the best wood is and what I have found out is Mdf is extremely cheap and can be toxic and highly breakable. Formaldehyde leaking from MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) can irritate the lungs, mucous membranes, eyes and skin. Exposure to formaldehyde may result in asthma. Birch plywood is also very cheap and has two layers of birch and a middle filler so you will see three layers on the side. This wood is typically found at your local big box store. This is also very light weight and flimsy compared to Russian Baltic Birch. Russian Baltic birch wood will have 8 plus layers and is known for its strength and quality, which makes it a nice hearty wood. This will NOT be too heavy as a name cut out as competitors might tell you. Russian Baltic Birch must be purchased from a specialty shop dealing in hardwoods. This wood is typically used for cabinets and furniture. It is much more pricey than the other two cheap alternatives, but if you would compare with the others it is clear which one shows quality. Know what you are buying it makes a difference!
HOW ARE THE NAMES CUT. All of our names are ROUTER cut, this gives the ability to give a nice easy paint finish to the sides. Laser cutting leaves burn marks on the side and can bleed through glitter over time. The sides will be black with laser cutting which makes it very hard to cover with paint.
HOW ARE OUR NAMES PAINTED? We use all non toxic, child friendly paints and glitters. I do not have a color chart because we do so many custom colors. To choose a color you can scroll through my listings, send a picture of what you are wanting or pick a custom color. We do not spray paint as this can leave drip marks and spots on the front of the name where the spray was heavier. Also it is very hard to get good coverage on the sides and cracks when spraying, in addition to being toxic. We take time with each name that is cut then hand sand and hand paint each one to a customers specifications. If a customer is wanting a custom color we will pick it up free of charge.
HOW DO I SELECT A SIZE? I charge per letter, with capital letters more and lowercase less. I charge this way so there is no limit to width. When ordering per letter (with my store) a customer gets to choose the HEIGHT of the capital which is important to the over all look. Ordering this way there is no limit to width and its easier to understand what the height of the capital will be because customers get to choose from that point. If you purchase by width this can be confusing as to what the capital and overall size will look like. All my pricing and how it works is under the description section of each listing. 4 out of 5 starsLet me begin with her work is BEAUTIFUL. This is my second time ordering from her. Both experiences, she has produced exceptional work. The challenge is the communication. Both times it took over a month to receive the order and I had to email several times. The response time could be greatly improved. As a paying customer it can be frustrating not knowing when or if your order will show. When preparing a nursery for a new baby. This can be very stressful. She however was super apologetic. But she is worth every dime.
