Anne moved to Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn in 2001 from Santa Fe, NM to pursue her career as a professional bellydancer. Through professional training in New York and study trips to Cairo, Egypt she gradually became one of New York’s most respected bellydance performers. Always a lover of high fashion, costume and jewelry design, bellydancing was the perfect vehicle to indulge in her passion for all things sparkling and brilliantly colorful.

After years of beading costumes, what better way to top off her original costume designs than with original hand made jewelry? In 2014 Anne enrolled in New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and began studying jewelry design with Marianne Fey Levitt.

Brooklyn Body Bling was born in 2016. Anne's first sale was a beaded, aqua colored crystal and sterling silver body chain which drapes around the torso creating a sexy, feminine silhouette. Brooklyn Body Bling has now expanded to offer the Gem Cluster Cocktail Ring with Vermeil and Fine Silver bands along with a collection of necklaces. The Waterfall, Leaf and Gem Cluster collections are designed using cascades of crystals and semi precious stones in silver and gold plated chain and sterling. Brooklyn Body Bling’s designs highlight Swarovski and Preciosa crystals and an array of semi precious stones such as moonstone, labradorite, garnet and chalcedony. Using such a wide range of elements composes a highly textural, visual appeal along with color palettes ranging from vividly brilliant to subtly nuanced.

Anne’s artistic inspirations are rooted in the vast colors of the natural world, as filtered through her eye as a life long painter, and blended with a hint of urban attitude and panache.

Anne’s creations can transition from day wear to a night out at the opera; sexy, feminine, sassy and elegant.

EDUCATION
Alanah holds a Bachelor of The Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her educational focus was on Fine Art, Renaissance Art History and Political Science.

Anne is a world traveler, gathering her artistic inspirations from St. Petersburg to Jaipur.
