My first experiments with drawing graphics were ones in 1999, using mouse and Microsoft Paint and Editor, and Amreta's Graphic Corner was up in 1 August 2000. Over thousand of cute country graphics and a few server crashes later, I somehow became very busy at my full time job and the site went dormant. Too bad! Of course I'd say that. However, I managed to keep my website alive though I didn't create any new graphics anymore since 2012.
The creative spirit in me gained a fresh new take as I started to become friends with Adobe Illustrator in February 2015, thus the start of my 'older' Folksy Graphicalicious collections. In 2018, I started doing doodles and brush calligraphy. They are all original, homemade by me with much love and a happy heart ;D
However, Life kept challenging me! For a few years now I had to deal with several autoimmune conditions. I stopped creating artwork since I preferred to take some rest when I wasn't at work. Pandemic happened and working from home was also quite challenging, but somehow, thankfully, I found my way to regain my health. The key was actually in the dietary changes. One and a half year now after going vegan, gluten-free and minimal processed fat, I'm noticeably free of brain fog and fatigue. And free of medicine. In 2018 there were times I had to walk with the support of a walking stick. Now I started running and long-distance walking again, at least 6 000 steps a day!
And now here I am, restarting my creative engine :) Only in August this year I found a way to revive my old pixel graphics, turning some of them into cross stitch patterns and holymoly I couldn't stop!!!
I had always loved handmade lovelies and Etsy - the very place for that - and finally I have my own shop too here! It feels like a celebration!!
Looking back, it's been quite a learning journey, my personal rainbow-brick-road to dreaming fearlessly, creating passionately, balancing work and hobbies soulfully, following your gutsy heart and playful spirit, getting inspired and living - online and offline - the Mary Poppins' (oh yes my favorite lady!) inspired way: stitchy-calligraphilistix-and-so-doodlelicious! :)
How I love life. Happiness is doodlelicious!
